When we work on anything, whether it is for customer or for internal operations, we always need to set a performance target which is higher than what we had previously.  We must question ourselves if we find ourselves repeating the same way of handling things just because we did it this way before. Communication is a CRITICAL factor for the success of a project as poor communication now can have massive consequences later.  We should never simply accept / be satisfied with the state of our communication with various parties.  There is always room for improvement.  We must always imagine/think ahead and then check what the other party needs and act proactively to satisfy their needs. This means we need to THINK and always BE AWARE of what we are doing and why, instead of being mindless about our methods “because we always do it that way”. What may be best for one client might not be right for another client.

We understand the market and adjust ourselves.

We pay attention to what is happening in our surroundings to keep adjusting our focus.  Failing to do this could set us the wrong targets and we will lose our competitive edge.  Working on the wrong targets would waste the value of our hard work.
