UNESCO Hong Kong Association (“the Association”), a member of the Chinese National Federation of UNESCO Clubs, Centres and Associations, aims to promote the mission of the United Nations on global peace and development.
In 2015, the United Nations established a set of 17 Global Goals for Sustainable Development (SDG). The Association promotes this initiative through a Global Citizenship Education programme. This programme is open to students from tertiary institutions and senior secondary schools and consists of learning in a specific SDG, a drama script writing competition, production of the winning plays, a SDG Festival, visits to UN educational functions overseas and formation of an ambassador scheme for global citizenship.
