Main Responsibilities:

• Overall accountability for Purchasing within the Category. As the Business Partner to and for the Category for all Purchasing related matters
• Define, deploy, implement and drive Purchasing Strategies and Sourcing roadmap aligning with the product roadmap, technology platform with key stakeholders in Category Marketing, NPI, Innovation & Development and Supply Chain
• Lead the Category purchasing team globally. Owned the overall Purchase value responsibility.
• Cost management and reduction
• Driving Total Cost of Ownership thru the entire purchasing team
• Supply base intelligence within the category. Manage strategic supplier relationship. problem solving and improvement actions
• Value Sourcing for the category
• Supplier performance management, supply risk management and suppliers base maintenance via proper supplier qualification and disqualification process aligning with relevant parties
• Manage a structured Supplier development program to increase competence level
• Leading the Purchasing team to drive and achieve the defined business objectives.
• Organization development such as competence development and training, driving continuous improvement

Job Requirements:

• University Degree (Engineering / Business Management)
• Min 8 years' experience in Purchasing in Asia / China, preferably in consumer goods industry.
• Strong network in supplier base in China
• Solid experience in dealing with suppliers in Asia Pacific especially China
• Finished good purchasing experience
• Business acumen, financial driven, market focused with strategic thinking and excellent negotiation skills
• Good command in Mandarin and English
• Ability to work in an international environment, with a (partly) virtual team.
• Open mind, result driven, team player, taking ownership and willing to work under pressure
