Product Technologist - Toys

Job Profile:

Process

• Providing Technical feedback and ensuring that supplier production quality is consistent with brand expectations;
• Support and monitor the sealing process with suppliers;

• Review design specification and samples to risk assess products, resolve issues on construction, safety and testing in line with set sealing process, ensuring products are legally compliant and production viable;
• Ensure the sample testing work is arranged by suppliers and results are delivered within the timescale and/or the pre-determined critical path/ product development schedule;
• Ensure all quality problems/ issues of new products are identified and rectified before red seal and gold seal samples are confirmed;
• Establish and maintain product Technical files in line with legal requirements;
• Ensure suppliers understand company and international standard before production;
• Review and analyse the failure of product testing results with suppliers and provide professional advice as required;

Reporting

• Adhere to agreed reporting requirements to ensure all technical and quality requirements are tracked and analysed;
• Key in data to produce reports on technical and quality related KPI’s;
• Review reports for trends and identify actions for discussion with Management.

People Management

• Agree personal performance targets with Management;
• Identify personal development needs.

Job Requirements:

• Diploma Graduate or above in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline;
• At least 2 years hand on experience in product sealing of toys in a retail capacity;
• Knowledge in European and US toys regulations such as ROHS, REACH, EN71, EN62115, ASTM etc;
• Good in problem solving, planning, organizing and analysing;
• Good in written and spoken English, Cantonese and Mandarin;
• Proficiency in computer skills such as MS office is a must.
• Understanding of best practice quality processes and company standards
• Manufacturing and Operations experience
• Data analysis and reporting
• Coaching and knowledge transfer capabilities
