We are looking for a high caliber English and Humanities Vice Principal with relevant qualifications to support the company and the Principal to drive the growth of our English and Humanities (EH) Department. The successful candidate will be part of the team to provide strategic leadership for continuous improvement and development of the company.

Role Objective

• Be a strategic partner with the management and work together with the Principal to drive the growth of our English and Humanities (EH) Department; 
• Provide constructive feedback and to drive the team’s performance;
• Manage the course content and teaching materials to ensure they follow international tests and syllabus development;
• Facilitate smooth communication between the EH team and other departments within a multicultural environment.

Job Responsibilities

Teaching roles:

• Deliver student-centered, high-quality teaching to students according to educational needs and abilities based on lesson plans and syllabi;

Non-teaching roles:

• Drive the development of the EH Department by understanding the demand of different customer groups to customize the courses to provide the best for students;
• Prepare yearly development plans for the EH Department;
• Monitor the development of teaching materials such as course notes and publications, etc.;
• Keep abreast of relevant changes to syllabus and standardized tests, and ensure teachers stay up-to-date with the most effective approaches to teaching students;
• Communicate between management and teachers in order to ensure all classroom policies and goals are met;
• Monitor the teaching quality of subordinates by leading regular teacher training, including but not limited to lesson observation and personalized performance evaluation leading to teacher self-efficacy.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or above in English or equivalent from a top tier university;
• Minimum 5 years of teaching experience;
• Sound knowledge and credentials in international tests and syllabi such as IB/IGCSE/SAT/SSAT;
• Commitment to student learning and well-being;
• Strong leadership skills with enthusiasm to motivate the team and encourage teamwork;
• Positive can-do approach to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
