Responsibilities:

• Prepare business plan; achievement of budgeted AGP, Loss Ratio and Commission Ratio; renewal retention; credit control; portfolio balance; acceptance standards; risk assessment;  business quotations and enquiries; signing and control of cover notes; organize monthly report & etc.
• Arrange pricing and rating and R/I requirements with Underwriting Department
• Manage sales and expenses to budget to control costs
• Plan and implement a strategy to attract and retain high value agency sales force / clients and to eliminate poor performing portfolios
• Identify new business opportunities; manage strategic intermediary relationships; manage agents recruitment and retention; manage agents profiles; provide efficient general business services to intermediaries and clients
• Ensure all Agency and other channels sales force’s accreditation levels & compliance requirements are adhered to
• Contribute to the refinement of processes and procedures to improve sales systems and procedures
• Review existing portfolios and recommend strategies for increased growth
• Learn about new products and understand commission structures for each product in order to enhance the relationships with clients
• Keep self-knowledge up to date with current product range and any modifications in order to meet business appetite and customer needs
• Establish and develop relationships and promote company image with key clients
• Monitor client and market requirements and client feedback by conducting client calls / visits
• In consultation with Underwriting Department, provide technical and specialist product expertise to intermediaries on the range of products offered
• Adhere to underwriting standards, instructions and good practice to minimize risks and maximize efficiency
• Evaluate risk for new business in accordance with standards, to ensure profitable growth
• Issue and deliver policies documentations meeting service standards with high accuracy and efficiency
• Prepare monthly report to show productivity and effectiveness in line with targets
• Responsible for ad-hoc projects as designated by senior-management
• Handle ad-hoc project assigned by the Company and/or Senior Management

• Degree Holder and Professional qualification in insurance or related disciplines
• Minimum 15+ years of experience in general insurance sales, servicing, underwriting, and business development functions with at least 5 years in managerial capacity
• Local general insurance market expertise with broad general insurance industry knowledge
• Excellent experience / understanding of class specific underwriting, product knowledge and policy documentation issuance and process
• Negotiation and problem-solving skills
• Sound relationship management and communication skills
• Problem solving, planning and organizational skills
• Commercial acumen
• Ability to analyze data use for decision-making
• Strong levels of personal drive and enthusiasm

• Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese
• Candidate with less experience will be considered as Senior Manager, Business Unit - Core Channels
