Job Description
The Department
The Corporate Affairs (CA) Division strengthens the strategic development and positioning of the Club as a world-class racing club and charity organisation, through engaging key stakeholders in both Hong Kong and the Mainland, and maintaining efficient and effective corporate communications.
The Job
You will:
- Support manager to smoothly implement a developed strategic media plan in promoting HKJC’s world-class racing, its professional expertise and capabilities in talent development, as well as its commitment and contributions to the equine industry development in the Great Bay Area and other parts of China, and enhance Mainland Media’s understanding and report interest of the Club’s other business initiatives
- Develop content for dissemination via press release, statement and other distribution channels, identify opportunities to proactively pitch brand and Club stories. Ensure coverage of the Club's key activities. This will involve providing on-site support during feature racing events and other campaigns to facilitate media reporting
- Proactively plan and arrange engagement activities to develop and maintain a constructive working relationship with media stakeholders for the generation of positive publicity. Facilitate the drafting of event briefings, ensure that all necessary information is included and effectively communicated to stakeholders. Proactively follow through with event organising, which includes logistic planning and coordinating administrative tasks
- Support manager in the prevention and management of sensitive issues to avoid negative media publicity. Conduct real-time monitoring on Mainland Media sentiment, collect intelligence on regulatory or policy changes and alert the management for appropriate action
- Explore and identify potential media partnerships. Draft summaries that clearly outline the values and deliverables that can be expected from such partnerships. Additionally, monitor and track the performance of these media partnerships, ensuring that the advertisement value meets the desired standards
- Liaise with external parties such as agency on managing and maintaining media budgets in accordance with authorized plans, facilitate the implementation of media payments and purchase orders
About You
You should have:
- A degree holder in journalism, public relations or other relevant disciplines
- Minimum of five years of work experience in Mainland Media, or in the areas of public relations or corporate communication within a corporate setting
- Outstanding stakeholders management skill and experience for the building of government and media relationship
- Solid knowledge of issues and crisis management, and experienced in managing media communications during crisis
- High level of proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese. A track record of producing excellent editorials that effectively communicate clear key messages
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and great team player
- Keen attention to detail and be proactive in all aspects of event planning, organizing, and execution
- Public Relations writing skills
- Experience in Media and stakeholders engagement
- Experience in event planning and execution
- Risk Management skills
Terms of Employment
The level of appointment will be commensurate with qualification and experience.
