Our client "IFB International Freightbridge Limited ” is seeking a Head of Ocean Pricing and Procurement join their company!  

What you’ll be doing? 

• Develop and execute business strategies for effective procurement and pricing processes 
• Support company’s P&L growth, financial health, profitability, and operational efficiency  
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team and foster a culture of collaboration
• Negotiate and coordinate short- and long-term sea freight buying rates and space 
• Engage and maintain close relationships with shipping line’s trade management,  
• Provide competitive buying rates to IFB offices, business stakeholders and partners  
• Allocation management: determine volume requirement and allocate space in alignment
• Support IFB offices with optimal carrier selections, schedules and shipping solutions  
• Provide pricing and solutions for regional rate requests and freight tenders  
• Manage the procurement team and coordinate effectively with each IFB Office  
• Align and collaborate with IFB country organizations (sales and operations) 
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements
• Monitor market trends, forecast the requirements for different market scenarios and adjust
• Analyze market conditions and trends, as well as competitor pricing behavior to adjust IFB 
• Conduct yield-, volume- and carrier analysis as basis for future business plans  
• Support agent network team in expanding and growing relationship with new partners  
• Provide support for IFB offices for best practices in ocean shipping and pricing  
• International mindset and great cross-cultural sensitivity.  
   

Who are they looking for? 

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in the freight forwarding and/or shipping line industry  
• Relevant post graduate degree  
• Extensive experience sea freight procurement and pricing with access to a network 
• Strong negotiation and relationship management skills 
• In-depth knowledge of the sea freight industry and market dynamics
• Strong operations management understanding, Cargowise knowledge is a plus
• Excellent communication skills with high proficiency in English  
• Strategic thinker with excellent tactical and operational management skills
• International mindset and great cross-cultural sensitivity
