My client is looking for an Application Architect (Payment Platform) to lead the design and evolution of a high-scale, secure Payment Platform. You will own architecture decisions across Java/Spring microservices, ensure robust integration with banking/payment networks, and champion cloud-native, CI/CD-driven delivery. Responsibilities

• Design and architect scalable, secure, and high‑availability payment platform components and services.

• Lead the design and development of Java/Spring Boot microservices, ensuring modularity, reliability, and resilience.

• Establish and enforce architectural standards, coding best practices, and design patterns across engineering teams.

• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs, event-driven architectures, and system integrations for payment flows.

• Ensure the platform supports key payment operations such as authorization, settlement, reconciliation, and refunds.

• Work closely with product, compliance, and security teams to ensure alignment with business, regulatory, and security requirements.

• Drive cloud-native designs using AWS services (e.g., ECS/EKS, Lambda, API Gateway, RDS, DynamoDB, SQS/SNS).

• Champion CI/CD best practices, automated testing, and deployment pipelines to ensure smooth delivery and operations.

• Implement robust observability practices including metrics, logs, tracing, and alerting for mission-critical payment services.

• Architect and optimize SQL database schemas for transaction consistency, integrity, and performance.

• Conduct architecture reviews, code reviews, and mentoring sessions with engineers to elevate technical quality.

•  Lead troubleshooting and incident resolution for complex system issues in distributed environments.

• Produce clear architecture documentation (diagrams, standards, ADRs) and communicate decisions effectively across teams.

• Ensure compliance with security best practices (encryption, tokenization, secrets management, access control).

• Evaluate new technologies relevant to payments, cloud, and distributed systems, recommending adoption where beneficial

Qualifications

• At least 6 – 8 years of experience in application development, including 4 – 5 years of hands-on Java programming experience, ideally within a payment platform environment

• 3 – 4 years of experience with the Spring framework

• Strong background in microservices architecture and distributed systems.

• Hands-on experience with AWS or similar cloud environments.

• Strong proficiency with SQL databases (schema design, query optimization, indexing).

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.

• Understanding of secure coding standards and best practices.

• Fluent in Chinese and English
