Job Description
Responsibilities:
1) Analyse , understand and build cost structures of products, design concepts, functions, component, and drive the Cost Engineer team in support of the Finished Goods team in achieving the cost target so as to be competitive before product launch.
(2) Provide cost comparison and impact and recommends most cost effective product allocation scenario for decision making.
(3) Review and endorse the evaluation and analysis of cost and benefits for different options / scenario (e.g. design concepts, product function / feature, material).
(4) Participate in cost reduction team and improvement teams to support cost savings objectives by providing a reliable and timely adhoc decision analysis.
(5) Scan and monitor development in Free Trade Agreement (FTA) and assess their implications on different business and industrial base so that we can optimize duty advantage.
(6) Integrate the process and improve on way of working between BU, sites.
(7) Develop and manage Cost Engineering competence and knowledge, and lead, manage the section by applying HR practices like: development planning, succession planning, rewarding, appraisals etc

Job Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Bachelor Degree in Business Management/ Mechanical / Electronics/ Industrial Engineering or related discipline.
- Min 5 years costing or industrial engineering experience.
- In depth knowledge and understanding of relevant products cost buildup and understanding what are the cost contributors.
- Experience in dealing with suppliers in Asia Pacific especially China.
- Confident to communicate with all levels/ different cultural backgrounds.
- Good relationship and people handling skills.
- Meticulous and detail.
