Job Description

The appointee will be required to

(a) identify end user requirements for all campus facilities;
(b) provide technical advice and professional input on any facilities management matters undertaken by the Office;
(c) define the scope of service to be taken up by different out-sourced facilities management services and maintenance contractors, set up service level standards, agreeing on the key performance indicators, monitoring and evaluating their performance;
(d) review design drawings, specifications, tender document to ensure the accuracy and adequacy;
(e) set up maintenance plans for future facilities development;
(f) lead new initiatives covering sustainability, energy conservation, green projects; and
(h) take up any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

 

Requirements:

(i) Degree holder or above in Engineering or any related discipline with professional qualification of a Chartered Engineer or equivalent professional qualification;
(ii) at least 8 years’ relevant post-graduate management experience in other institutions, NGOs or properties that carry similar scale and variety of facilities;
(iii) experience in leading a team of professional and frontline staff is preferable;
(iv) able to make decisions independently based on sound engineering judgment and life-cycle evaluation;
(v) think analytically for making logical decisions with consideration on the best interest of the University;
(vi) develop and maintain solid and constructive relationships with a wide range of internal and external parties;
(vii) excellent in communication and negotiation skills with ability to drive results and influence others;
(ix) proficient in computer applications including AutoCAD, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; and
(x) good command of spoken and written Chinese and English.

 

Salary and Fringe Benefits

The rank and commencing salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits, where applicable, include annual leave, medical and dental benefits, and mandatory provident fund.
