WWF, the World Wide Fund for Nature, a non-profit organization, with headquartered in Switzerland, is one of the world’s most recognizable and respected independent conservation organisations. 

Founded in 1981, WWF-Hong Kong is an integral part of the WWF global network, with a mission to stop the degradation of the plant’s natural environment and to build a future in which humans thrive with nature. We have in total five visitor centers, namely Central, Island House, Hoi Ha Wan, Long Ping and Mai Po. Our work began with managing Mai Po Nature Reserve and conserving iconic species. With its high diversity of wetland habitats including gei wais, mangroves, intertidal mudflats and reedbeds, the reserve is an important habitat and staging site for waterbirds. Some 60,000 birds make their annual winter migration to roost in Deep Bay. Over the years, we have expanded our mission to better serve Hong Kong’s conservation and education needs and align ourselves with WWF’s global strategy.
