Job Description

 Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent business/system analysis, design, QA, troubleshooting and make recommendations;
  • Provide the development function for the design, development and unit testing of business features delivered through multiple teams;
  • Provide technical direction and work with developer productivity through strong design and development processes along with design pattern and reusability concepts;
  • Follow the standardized development processes, design standards and coding standards to ensure consistently and high-quality deliverables;
  • Influences and provides technical expertise on information systems designs and components to meet defined business needs and to ensure compatibility with enterprise and solution architectures;
  • Responds to support requests on complex technical issues and client specific programming requests to ensure business needs are met;
  • Initiates and drives process and system improvement opportunities to increase development efficiencies and quality and to decrease costs and time-to-market, while advocating and encouraging nontraditional ideas;
  • Ensure all the key functions in IT Development are delivered timely and professionally;
  • Assist the development of systems to ensure projects are within scope, budget, objectives, schedules, and resources commitments;
  • Demonstrated discipline and success with Agile (Scrum) / DevOps development methodologies;
  • Develop and test applications using COBOL/ MS.Net/ J2EE, on IBM AIX/ MS Intel/ MS DB/ Oracle DB, Visual Studio, and Access;
  • Assist onshore and offshore teams across multiple locations;
  • Maintain the relationships with internal and external service vendors to ensure superior service delivery for all application core technologies;
  • Collaborate with the team for effective code branching/merge strategy to support parallel development across multiple teams;
  • Coordination and communication with project resources, internal team, stakeholders and vendors on all aspects of project progression/status;
  • Participate and handle ad hoc duties assigned by the Management;
  • System rollout and support;
  • Maintain & operate the batches of core banking system.

Job Requirements:

  • Degree holder in Information Technology, Computer Studies or related disciplines in IT field;
  • At least 8 years of solid experience in Banking / Financial institution industry;
  • Solid experience in mainframe / MS Intel development environment using COBOL, Microsoft.NET, C#, Visual Basic, J2EE, Oracle, SQL Server, Visual Studio, and Access;
  • Sound knowledge and solid experience in system architecture, technical design, and system development best practices;
  • Sound knowledge and solid experience in SDLC methodologies, Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration, Object Oriented Design and Service Oriented Architecture (SOA);
  • Experience in Agile (Scrum) / DevOps development models, improving speed to go live and efficiency;
  • PMP or equivalent certification;
  • Experience in banking applications is an advantage;
  • Able to work under pressure ad can work independently;
  • Good command in spoken and written English and Chinese, Mandarin is a must;
  • Immediate available is preferred.
