Job Description

We are looking for a high calibre professional to join our Investor Relations team in Group Finance. Investor Relations team is responsible for communicating CLP’s financial and operational performance and strategy, alongside fostering and maintaining relationships with the investment community.  This position will report to the Director – Investor Relations with the key responsibilities and requirements of the position are summarized as follows:


Responsibilities:
  • Manage all aspects of the investor relations calendar, in particular collecting, analysing financial and operational data, and developing and articulating messaging for interim and annual results to investors and analysts.
  • Craft accurate, informative, and concise materials to communicate strategy, operational performance, financial performance and ESG to the investment community, including results presentations, question and answer documents, information memos, briefings, website and IR app content etc, and produce these in traditional and simplified Chinese.
  • Act as a link between the Investor Relations team and the business to ensure collection of critical data and a robust understanding of the key drivers of business performance and develop these into the equity story, including the evolution of the Group’s key reporting metrics.
  • Maintain strong and effective relationships with investment community including proactive engagement with and responding to investors; management of relationships with broking firms, research analysts and corporate access teams; management of relationships with the providers of external service providers.
  • Evolve an engagement and targeting program for current and potential investors, leveraging planning, scheduling, and developing materials for roadshows, analyst conferences, shareholder meetings, industry events and conduct investor perception studies.
  • Monitor, analyse and communicate information regarding the CLP Group, its peers, competitors, and the market to ensure we have an informed and detailed view of the Group's market performance and standing within the investment community, and preparing reports outlining key findings and trends.
  • Support senior management for investor meetings, events and roadshow, and conduct follow-up.
Requirements:
  • A recognised university degree in finance, accounting, business administration or relevant disciplines with minimum 10 years’ relevant working experience in financial or investor relations discipline.
  • Qualified CFA, accountant or actuary with significant post-qualified experience.
  • Strong financial analysis and synthesis of financial and operational information. Attention to detail and knowledge of financial statements is critical. Accounting background is a significant advantage.
  • Deep company and industry knowledge.
  • Excellent communications and written skills – the ability to understand and explain complex concepts simply.
  • Strong interpersonal skills – able to interact with a wide variety of people including senior internal and external stakeholders, and to work within a team to deliver under time pressure.
  • Experience in producing internal and external communications material and board and executive level presentations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and knowledge of Bloomberg application is a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience working with senior executives and external parties.
  • Good spoken and written English and Chinese. Ability to speak Mandarin is a significant advantage.
