Position Summary

The (Assistant) Finance Manager leads the Group financial controlling team, overseeing all financial accounting, transaction processing, tax and other statutory compliance activities for the Group.  This role ensures the integrity of financial reporting, compliance with statutory requirements, and effective risk management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Financial Accounting and Reporting:

• Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements for all the Group’s legal entities, adhering to local and parent company disclosure requirements and deadlines.
• Oversee the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy in General Ledger accounting and transaction processing (A/P, A/R, Fixed Assets).
• Monitor and implement changes in local statutory accounting and reporting requirements to ensure compliance.
• Identify and lead initiatives for process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Manage local financial audits in accordance with the Group audit timetable.
• Collaborate with the FP&A team, providing detailed documentation and commentary on financial transactions and reports.

2. Tax Compliance:

• Coordinate with external partners to ensure compliance with all tax regulations, including timely filing of tax returns in relevant jurisdictions.
• Support the development and maintenance of tax planning structures.

3. Treasury Management: 

• Manage cash flow forecasting to maintain adequate liquidity.
• Coordinate intercompany balances efficiently.
• Oversee bank accounts, ensuring efficient use and closure of unnecessary accounts.

4. Financial Planning and Analysis:

• Analyze financial performance and provide insights to senior management for strategic decision-making.
• Prepare and present financial reports to the executive team, highlighting key metrics and trends.

5. Internal Controls and Compliance:

• Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Ensure compliance with corporate policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct periodic reviews and audits to assess the effectiveness of internal controls and implement improvements as needed.

6. Risk Management:

• Identify financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement risk management policies and procedures.
• Monitor and report on risk exposure and the effectiveness of risk management strategies.

7. Team Leadership and Development:

• Lead, mentor, and develop the financial controlling team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
• Set performance goals, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance evaluations.
• Promote a collaborative and inclusive work environment.

The Candidate

Education and Certification:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting/ finance or related disciplines.
• Qualified accountant or similar level professional qualification.

Experience:

• At least 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in a multinational company.
• Qualified accountant or similar level professional qualification.

Skills:

• Candidates with previous audit experience are preferred.
• Advanced Excel and analytical skills, experience with Oracle or SAP is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to adapt to change and handle pressure.
• Sound knowledge in accounting standards.

Candidates with less experience will be considered for the Assistant Finance Manager role.

Work Location

This position will be placed at Central Office and Science Park Office in rotation.
