Responsibilities:

• Report to top management and assist to formulate purchasing strategy.
• Coordinate with merchandising for material sampling and product development. 
• New vendor sourcing and evaluation, negotiating for price and payment terms.
• Push lead times as well as ensure incoming material quality (leather).
• Implement material control planning & maintain inventory in appropriate levels.
• Communicate with suppliers for quality issues and claims.
• Participate in ERP system, handling all PO activities of HK and factory purchase requisitions for imported material.
• Liaison with accounts payable regarding receiving and PO information.
• Work closely with the shipping department as well as Customs clerks to monitor and maintain importing contracts.

Requirements:

• Preferably a University Graduate.
• Minimum 2 years + experience in sourcing & procurement of raw materials (leather) in the manufacturing industry.
• Familiar with the global leather market and trends.
• With minimal supervision, able to deal with suppliers independently.
• Good presentation and problem solving skills.
• Self-motivated with good leadership skills.
• Team player with proactive and positive attitude.
• Good command in both written and spoken English and Chinese.
• Computer literate; Microsoft Office applications.
• Knowledge of Supplier Relationship Management (SRM)
• Required to travel to the factory (China).
• Immediate available is preferred.
