Job Description

The Department

Purpose:

To contribute to the Charities Department in achieving the Club’s vision as the world class charity and community benefactor solving Metropolitan social issues with innovations.

 

Scope and Role:

Reporting directly to the Head of Charities (Youth Development and Poverty Alleviation)/ Executive Manager (Youth Development and Poverty Alleviation) or his/her delegate, the job holder is responsible for:

  • Managing the Trust-initiated Project (“TIP”) on the “LevelMind@JC - Community-based Youth Mental Wellness Hubs” and other Trust-funded projects;
  • Performing the strategic portfolio management by overseeing other approved grant initiatives related to the TIP to build synergy and optimise grant potentials; and
  • Initiating, developing, and implementing new initiatives or projects fostering better youth development and poverty alleviation 

 

The Job

  • Work in partnership with grantees and other strategic partners of the TIP to convene thought leadership and build alignment across all LevelMind@JC hubs to ensure successful delivery of the project. 
  • Oversee the design, development and implementation of the Project’s intervention including the management of the LevelMind@JC hubs, care services within the hubs, and the supporting infrastructure, such as capacity building for social workers and the central support team, as well as the case management system across all hubs. Conduct internal and external stakeholders as required to ensure successful delivery of these interventions.
  • Perform the strategic portfolio management by overseeing other Trust supported strategic Youth initiatives to amplify impact of the TIP and other related grants.  Consolidate learning insights for sharing with relevant stakeholders on a regular basis. Develop new grants as needed to actualise emerging potentials. 
  • Engage and manage internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective delivery.  This includes but not limited to the Club Branding and Public Affairs in strategic communications and promotional campaigns; external consultants responsible for branding, technology experts and/or programme execution, and service providers.  Engage government officials to facilitate impact creation and system change. 
  • Develop and implement project governance and controls to ensure effective execution, including managing the advisory committee, supporting partners, and various taskforce groups. 
  • Monitor the progress of anticipated output and outcome, budget spending, handle budget virements and manage project evaluation and impact assessment.
  • Prepare papers and compile statistical/ financial /progress report, as well as report on special situation and make recommendations to Management, and / or Donations Committee, and/or Board of Trustees.
  • Represent the Trust in activities related to the TIP including ceremonies, and related functions as part of the ongoing monitoring process and stakeholder engagements. 

 

About You

  • Minimum of 10-12 years’ relevant work experience, with 7 years at mid-senior level, preferably in the social welfare, poverty, public administration, consulting, human resources, financial or charity and grant-making field, with knowledge and experience in youth mental health
  • Proven track record and experience managing complex and /or large-scale projects
  • Knowledge of research, evaluation and data analysis is a big plus
  • Demonstrate passion, experience and insight in the changing need of the youth and poverty population
  • Extensive experience in dealing with different stakeholders, such as government officials, NGOs, consultants, business, branding agencies etc.
  • Strong project development and management skills
  • Cross sectoral stakeholders management skills
  • Strong collaboration and influencing skills

 

Terms of Employment

The level of appointment will be commensurate with qualification and experience.
