Job Description

The appointee will provide administrative support to the Knowledge Transfer Office.

Duties

The appointee is expected to provide administrative support to the Office relating to Intellectual Property (IP) administration including to:

  1. Manage the IP database administration system;
  2. Consolidate IP data for reporting and analysis;
  3. Review new invention documents at initial stage;
  4. Lead new invention assessment meetings;
  5. Documentation of patent application;
  6. Support Technology Transfer Officers in aspects of patent application;
  7. Lead patent further conversion and renewal processes;
  8. Support patent budget review from time to time;
  9. Handle invoices and payments to suppliers on time;
  10. Support audit, supplier tender processes, and digitisation project;
  11. Supervise Clerical Officer and/or Student Helpers;
  12. Coordinate PRC staff for patent applications in the PRC; and
  13. Perform any other duties as assigned.

Requirements

A Bachelor’s degree with at least 2 years’ relevant post-qualification experience. Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua); good computer skills (particularly MS Excel and PivotTable); good organisational, communication and interpersonal skills; being self-motivated and multi-tasking; and ability to work independently under pressure and within tight deadlines are required. 

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a written test.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
