Environmental Engineer

Job Duties

• Prepare, implement and update the Environmental Management Plan

• Advise on measures to be taken in the interest of environmental protection, and implement such measures

• Liaise on all matters relating to environmental monitoring and auditing

• Carry out inspections of the Site for identifying potential hazards to the environment, and to report findings with recommendations for corrective actions

• Participate in the weekly environmental walks, and to supervise and monitor the environmental performance on the site

• Check and ensure that any polluting or potentially polluting situation is promptly rectified

• Attend Site Safety Management Committee (SSMC) meetings and Site Safety Committee (SSC) meetings

Requirements

• A corporate member of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineer (HKIE) in Environmental Discipline or equivalent; or

• A corporate member of a professional institution (e.g. HKIE, HKIA, HKIS, etc.) plus at least 3 years of experience in environmental management, monitoring and auditing of construction activities; or in possession of a diploma or above in environmental studies or equivalent; or

• At least 5 years of construction site experience and completed the Environmental Officer Course run by CIC or an equivalent certificate course; or

• An Engineering Degree holder with at least 10 years of construction site experience, or possessing a higher certificate in a construction related subject and having at least 15 years of construction site experience; and who has completed the “Environmental Management Course for Construction Managers” or equivalent organized by CIC.
