About GX Foundation:

GX Foundation was founded in 2018 in Hong Kong as a response to the Belt and Road Initiative for International Cooperation. It is a tax-exempt charity. The name GX is derived from the Chinese word“共享”, pronounced "Gong Xiang", meaning "sharing". Leveraging Hong Kong's institutional and talent advantages, GX Foundation is a unique non-governmental, non-profit organization specializing in executing humanitarian medical aid in foreign countries.

Our short-term objective is to complete the cataract blindness elimination projects in Lao, Cambodia, Djibouti, Mauritania, and Senegal, and to implement vector borne disease control projects in Timor-Leste and other Belt and Road countries. In the medium to long term, GX Foundation aims to become a humanitarian NGO of global influence in the international public health and medical aid sector. GX is headquartered in Hong Kong. Most of the staff are Hong Kong residents.  

Job Responsibilities:

• Oversee all daily accounting operations including book-keeping, financial planning, budgeting, and reporting to management and stakeholders

• Supervise and manage the accounting team to foster a culture of collaboration and professional growth

• Review and optimize existing accounting workflows and implement automation to enhance efficiency, accuracy, transparency and data integrity.

• Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations

• Coordinate with global field offices and liaise with external stakeholders

• Identify and mitigate financial risks, ensuring robust internal controls are in place.

• Coordinate annual audit and other local compliance

• Perform ad-hoc duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor degree in Accounting or related disciplines

• Qualified Accountant or equivalent,

• A minimum of six years of relevant experience in a managerial role

• Experience in the NGO or nonprofit sector preferred.

• Public accounting or audit experience is a plus.

• Proven leadership skills with experience in managing finance teams.

• Excellent analytical skills, acumen in Accounting, Finance and Control logic

• Strong command of both written and spoken English and Mandarin

• Strong problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills

• A team player with a strong sense of responsibility and integrity

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Chinese word processing and accounting software
