Major Responsibilities

• Work closely with the education officer and other carpenters to providing technical support to the programmes.

• Safely operate tools and equipment in the Wood Workshop.

• Assist instructors and participants during woodworking and related educational activities.

• Develop and prepare materials for the programmes.

• Oversee the routine operation of relevant workshop facilities.

• Maintain the workshop, including all tools, machinery, and equipment, to ensure a safe and effective working environment.

• Uphold and enforce all health and safety protocols within the workshop.

• Manage tools, equipment and materials inventory for the workshop.

• Process and preserve timber attained from tree work in KFBG.

• Log timber inventory with a record of quantities and types of wood.

• Produce wooden products and furniture occasionally.

Job Requirements

• Commitment to the mission, vision and values of KFBG.

• A Higher Diploma/Higher Certificate in a relevant subject from a recognised university or technical institute.

• OR a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject from a recognised university or technical institute.

• Preferably 2 - 3 years’ post-qualification work experience in related fields.

• Proficient knowledge and skills in woodworking.

• Good command of spoken and written Chinese. Knowledge of English is an advantage.

• A pleasant personality, team spirit, attentiveness to details and the willingness to learn.

• Highly motivated and the ability to work independently.

• Physically fit for outdoor work.

• Possession of a valid Type II driving license is an advantage.

• Possession of a higher degree and/or a valid technical certificate (e.g. Trade Test Certificate for Joiner) will be advantageous.

Appointment will initially be made on a 1-year contract, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.

This position is expected to work 2-3 days per week, with a daily salary ranging from $1,000 to $1,500, depending on the candidate's experience.
