Job Description
Key Responsibilities & Daily Focus
1. Credit Analysis & Client Vetting:
Personally perform deep-dive financial analysis on new and existing clients, focusing on:
Analyzing audited financial statements, bank references, and trade references. (KYC/ Due Diligence)
Using credit scoring models and setting specific credit limits and payment terms.
Making final credit recommendations (Approve/Deny) for major accounts.
2. Portfolio Monitoring & Exposure Management:
Actively monitor the company's total credit exposure, identifying concentrations of risk.
Track key risk indicators (KRIs) like days sales outstanding (DSO) and past-due invoices.
Flag high-risk accounts (e.g., clients in volatile industries, those showing financial distress) and lead the action plan to mitigate potential losses.
3. Policy & Process Ownership:
Draft, implement, and enforce the company's Credit Risk Management Policy.
Design and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the entire credit lifecycle, from client onboarding to collections escalation.
4. Business Partnership & Advisory:
Serve as the primary credit sign-off for the sales and leasing teams on non-standard deals.
Advise on contract clauses related to credit, security (e.g., bank guarantees, letters of credit), and collateral.
5. Reporting & Compliance:
Generate weekly/monthly reports for senior management on:
Portfolio health and top exposures.
Bad debt write-offs and provision analysis.
Industry risk trends affecting the container leasing and shipping sectors.
Mandatory Requirements / Must-Haves
Industry-Specific Experience: 5+ years in a credit risk management role within B2B businesses. You must understand the specific financial dynamics and client types in this field.
Core Financial Skills: Proven experience in:
Financial Statement Analysis (liquidity, solvency, profitability ratios).
Setting Credit Limits and structuring payment terms.
Hands-on Client Due Diligence.
Technical Proficiency: High proficiency in Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUPs) for data analysis and reporting.
Language Skills: Fluent in English and Cantonese (written and spoken) is essential for daily communication and reporting. Conversational Mandarin is required for liaising with regional clients and colleagues.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. A CPA or CFA certification is highly preferred and may be prioritized.
Travelling to PRC is required
