The duties of the Safety officer shall be solely directed towards safety and health matters.
In addition to the duties stipulated in the Factories and Industrial Undertakings (Safety officers and safety Supervisor) Regulations, the Safety Officer shall:
(a) Carry out safety inspections and prepare inspection reports,
(b) supervise and monitor implementation of the Safety Plan,
(c) ensure that sub-contractors and all persons working on the Site are made aware of and comply with the Safety Plan, and 
(d) carry out internal safety audits for the Safety Plan at intervals of not less than once every six months, whick format, scope and programme are to be proposed and agreed with the Supervior. In this respect, the internal safety audits can be carried out either by the Safety Officer or a Registered Safety Auditor (RSA).
(e) carry out Registered Safety Officer duty of a government project.
