Job Description:

• Collaborate closely with product and risk teams, providing technical expertise to clarify data methodologies and ensure accuracy and consistency

• Employ advanced Python coding and SQL querying techniques to perform data manipulation, cleansing, enrichment, and transformation

• Create bespoke Python libraries for backtesting, ticker mapping, point-in-time transformation, etc., enabling sophisticated investment insights

• Prepare data sets. Conduct exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify patterns, trends, and discover insights that support investment theses

• Work closely with data engineers to structure web scraping projects and produce highly calibrated signals that are relevant for investment

• Develop and implement complex data transformation pipelines to convert raw data into actionable formats for generating investment insights

• Implement technology solutions (e.g., dashboards, statistical models) to address the objectives

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics or relevant disciplines

• 4+ years of experience as a big data analyst/scientist

• Possess both industry background in financial services and commerce i.e. large e-commerce, telecommunications, and internet companies is huge plus

• Concept in data engineering practices

• Strong in performing big data analytics and modelling

• Experience utilizing web-scraped data

• Hands on with Python and Jupyter Notebook, SQL and NoSQL databases, and Tableau

• Knowledge of data-driven research frameworks (R, SciKit, PySpark) is preferred

• Advanced knowledge in probability and statistics

• Strong background in financial markets and associated data sets i.e. market data, reference data

• Strong interest in stock market / investments as well as fundamental equity/market research

• Excellent in English. Good command in Chinese
