Job Description
Are you passionate about people, purpose, and the planet? WWF-Hong Kong is seeking a motivated and well‑organised individual to join our Mai Po team as Officer – Wetlands Community Engagement and Training.
Role Summary
To act as one of the training facilitators to delivery wetland training in Mai Po Nature Reserve of Hong Kong SAR including providing operational and logistical support for training courses, assist in project delivery, and contribute to community engagement initiatives that strengthen wetland conservation and raise awareness of the East Asian–Australasian Flyway (EAAF). Additionally, support programmes focused on wetland conservation and monitoring, particularly at the Mai Po Nature Reserve.
Key Responsibilities
Training Course Coordination and delivery
Support planning, scheduling, reporting and logistics for wetland management training courses.
Assist in preparing training materials, venue arrangements, and participant communications.
Develop and update training materials and give presentations on some topics when needed
Guide the field visits to different sites in Hong Kong during the training
Provide on-site support during training sessions, including registration, facilitation, and evaluation.
Project Support
Assist the Manager in implementing conservation projects and monitoring progress.
Provide administrative and logistical support for project activities, workshops, and stakeholder meetings.
Help compile reports, documentation, and records for project tracking.
Participate in wetland habitat management and monitoring work
Community Engagement
Support talks, guided visits, and other Community activities in Mai Po Nature Reserve
Assist in developing awareness materials and coordinating events to promote EAAF conservation and Wetlands conservation
Maintain positive relationships with stakeholders and partners
Requirements
Qualifications
University degree or above in ecology, biological science, environmental science, geography or other nature conservation related disciplines
Experience
At least 2 years of working experience, preferably in training coordination, event management, or conservation projects
Experience in community engagement or NGO work is an advantage.
Required Skills
Strong organisational and coordination abilities.
Good presentation and communication skills (verbal and written) in English and Chinese
Ability to work independently and collaboratively under the guidance of the Manager.
Proficiency in MS Office and basic digital tools for training/event support.
Sociable, approachable, and comfortable engaging with diverse stakeholders.
Other Requirements
Willingness to work occasionally on weekends or evenings for training and community events.
Willingness to travel locally and regionally when required.
